Today the Senior Class went to the 'Mega Mitre 10 Tough Kids' Day in Invercargill. We joined with 1200 other year 3-8 students to have a hot fun time. As you can see it was great fun with lots of diverse challenges.

Last week we went to watch St Marys Production, which was very cool. On the way we called in to Christie Diamond Auto to sing Doug "True Kiwi Way" because he has sponsored our school on the 'ParentTeacherCalendarApp".
Arizona has finished her Genius Hour sewing with the help of Mrs Cross. She now knows about patterns, sewing straight, and making button holes.
These stunning lads have all been Eastern soccer representatives this term. They have played in a range of tournaments each weekend recently.

Today we did some writing outside observing things from a place where we were sitting. Everyone did a great job with lots of specific language, but we've just posted a few here.
From
where I am
From
where I am, a row of pine trees dances around in the wind.
From
where I am, I can see a magpie hunting brown worms in the paddock.
From
where I am, patches of dirt lie in the green grass where grass grubs have
lived.
From
where I am, the Hokonui Hills are big, but dry.

From
where I am
From
where I am, a young sparrow is swooping majestically from tree to tree.
From
where I am I see the bright sun piercing through the dark looming cloud.
From
where I am, I can hear the native birds cackling noisily.
From
where I am, I can hear the crashing wind whipping through the waving branches.

From
where I am
From
where I am, a group of lambs waits silently with their mother.
From
where I am, I can see the tombstone of a once happy boy.
From
where I am, the wind blows bits of my sandy blonde hair.
From
where I am I hear the distant baas of little lambs.
From
where I am, I gaze dreaming of a far off land.

From
where I am
From
where I am a single leaf sprouts from a tree telling me its spring.
From
where I am, I can see the fresh green paddocks from the farm nearby.
From
where I am, I can feel the cold westerly wind hitting my face, sending
goosebumps down my legs.
From
where I am I hear the loud thumping feet of the Middle class in their room.

From
where I am
From
where I am, a small bird I cannot name flutters from branch to branch high in
the trees singing a sweet never ending song.
From
where I am, I can see rough bark covering an old tree and moss drapes around it
like a cosy coat.
From
where I am, green leaves let out a strong fresh smell as the wind passes
through them.
From
where I am a blanket of dry leaves, sticks, and dirt cover the earths surface,
making soft crunching sounds as I step on it.
